You’re standing in front of a room full of people you need to impress but before you know it you’re rambling incoherently, there’s sweat gathering beneath the clothes that have become achingly uncomfortable, and every second that passes feels painstakingly slow?

Welcome brethren, you are not alone. Mastering the art of public speaking is not an easy feat but the Internet contains a slew of information, advice, and tips to help make the affair less daunting. In reality, we’re only human. Even some of our greatest leaders and influencers have difficulty with public speaking; yet, they find ways to deliver meaningful, impacting speeches. Fear can be crippling but there are ways to overcome them and turn those nervous ticks into advantages instead of letting them be a hindrance.

Although many blogs exist about public speaking, a unique feature for my blog will be my “pitch me a problem” day – a day dedicated to you, the reader, and whatever public speaking conundrum you wish me to tackle – including current events, personal public speaking problems, simple FAQ’s, and more.

Now a brief blurb about me: This coming May of 2017, I will have completed my Bachelors (B.A.) degree in Strategic Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in English at West Virginia University (WVU). In my spare time, when I’m not attending class or working at Animal Medical Center, I’m an active member of WVU’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). On December 5th, the organization honored me with an award for being an outstanding member of 2016. As for my plans after graduation, you can find me beachside in paradise, or more specifically O’ahu, Hawaii.
